Waikava Harbour View is situated in Waikawa, a small remote fishing settlement on the South Catlins coast.
Just five minutes drive north from Waikava Harbour View is the Niagara Falls Café which features an extensive all-day menu, inside and outside dining, coffee and a gallery featuring local paintings and crafts.
Waikawa is just off on the Southern Scenic Route which follows State Highway 92 through the Catlins from Balclutha to Invercargill.
Waikawa is on the Catlins Coastal Heritage Trail, which takes the coastal road between Niagara and Fortrose - a scenic detour off the Southern Scenic Route.
The nearest town is a 15 minute drive to Tokanui and Invercargill, New Zealand’s southernmost city, is approximately one hours travel time.
Waikava Harbour View is 300 metres off the main traffic route to Curio Bay and is private and secluded.
It has waterfront access to the Waikawa harbour and is within walking distance of a 15 minutes native bush walking track loop along the side of the Waikawa Estuary and has views of Strawberry Island.
Waikava Harbour View is only 300 metres from;
- Waikawa Museum & Information Centre which contains various items of historical significance from the time of the early European settlers from the 1840's including whaling, sawmilling and goldmining displays.
- Blue Cod Takeaways - locally sourced freshly cooked fish, burgers, sandwiches, pies etc and tea / coffee / cold drinks Closed over the winter months
